Back To School Night

August 30, 2023, 5:30-8:15 pm

The purpose of our Back to School event is for parents/guardians to have a quick introduction to their student’s teachers, to learn about student activities in an activities fair, and to learn from GHS educators in information sessions. Here is what you can expect:

  • Information sessions on topics such as: advanced coursework, grading at Gainesville High School, senior year-at-a-glance with GHS school counselors, and social media tips for parents
  • Parent/guardians will walk their student’s schedule
    • You can access your student’s schedule in Parent VUE under Class Schedule -> First Semester.
    • Teachers will do a broad overview of their course, grading practices, and expectations
  • Save the date - Touchbase is scheduled for October 9, 2023. At this event parents/guardians will have more time to discuss specifics about their student.
  • GHS spirit wear will also be for sale throughout the event.
  • Information tables will be set up for Parent Teacher Student Organization, Cardinal Athletic Boosters Club, and the Prince William County Community Services.

Attendees are encouraged to carpool, if possible, to alleviate parking and traffic congestion. There is a lower and upper parking lot in the front area of the school and additional parking across from the amphitheater and near the stadium. There will also be overflow parking in the Bus Loop area and rear of school if needed. There will be Police and Security on scene to assist.

We look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night!
