Learn Advisory Conversation
February 13, 2023
What is Learn?
- Learn is a recurring sequence where each class period has a 45-minute block for instructional purposes; extension, reteaching, relearning, reassessing. Instruction and lesson planning continue, but no new information is taught.
Possible Options for the Schedule
In this scenario Advisory meets on Tuesday and Thursday. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will have a full 1st block.
Period, Time
- 1/Advisory, 7:30 am - 8:48 am
- 2/3, 8:53 am - 10:27 am
- 4/5, 10:32 am - 12:31 pm
- 6/7, 12:36 pm - 2:10 pm
Another alternative is that Learn A/B occurs on an even day with the block being split in half. A normal rotation would be blocks 1/2, 4/3, 5/6, 7/Advisory. On select occasions, Learn A/B could just be all Advisory.
Period, Time
- 1/2, 7:30 am - 8:57 am
- 3/Learn A/B, 9:03 am - 10:31 am
- 4/5, 10:37 am - 12:37 pm
- 6/7, 12:43 pm - 2:10 pm
Another option would be an 8-day rotation. When first block meets with Learn, it becomes a 96-minute block.
Period, Time
- 1, 7:30 am - 8:18 am
- Flex, 8:24 am - 9:04 am
- 2/3, 9:10 am - 10:35 am
- 4/5, 10:41 am - 12:39 pm
- 6/7, 12:45 pm - 2:10 pm
