Gainesville High School is excited to celebrate Homecoming Week! This special tradition is an opportunity for students to show their school spirit, build lasting memories, and come together as a school community. We invite students and families to review the activities planned for the week, as well as important information regarding the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 3, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Spirit Week Themes

Celebrate Homecoming Week by participating in our daily spirit themes! Spirit Week attire should follow all PWCS dress code guidelines and should not distract from the learning environment in the classroom. Students are encouraged to participate creatively while following the school dress code.

  • Monday, 9/28: Jersey Day: Show your team spirit by wearing a jersey, shirt, or sweatshirt representing your favorite sports team, athlete, or club.
  • Tuesday, 9/29: Duo Day: Grab a friend and coordinate matching outfits, complementary costumes, or a creative pair theme.
  • Wednesday, 9/30: World Tour Day: Celebrate places around the globe by dressing to represent a country, city, landmark, or travel-inspired destination.
  • Thursday, 10/1: Culture Day: Celebrate and appreciate the diversity of our world by representing a culture, country, language, tradition, food, art, or community that is meaningful to you while remaining respectful and school appropriate.
  • Friday, 10/2: Class Colors Day: Show your class pride by wearing your designated class color:
    • Freshmen: White
    • Sophomores: Red
    • Juniors: Gray
    • Seniors: Black

Homecoming Week will conclude with an exciting day full of school spirit and tradition! Students are encouraged to show their class pride by participating in Class Color Day and joining their classmates for a few of GHS most anticipated Homecoming events: the annual RoShamBo Competition (Rock, Paper, Scissors), the Fall Pep Rally and the Homecoming Football game.

Students will participate in:

  • The annual RoShamBo Competition (Rock, Paper, Scissors)
  • The Fall Pep Rally
  • Class Color Day
  • Varsity Football vs Unity Reed at 7 p.m.

HOCO Dance Tickets and Guest Forms

Homecoming tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased through GoFan. Ticket sales will open on Monday, September 21 and close on Friday, October 2 at 11:59 p.m. Tickets will not be sold at the door, and sales will not reopen after the deadline.

The dance is open to Gainesville High School students and pre-approved outside guests. Students who wish to bring an outside guest must submit an Outside Guest Form by Wednesday, September 16 at 2:15 p.m.

Guest Forms are available:

  • outside Room 2006
  • in the Library
  • in the Main Office

Completed forms must be submitted as a hard copy to Mrs. Campbell in Room 2006. Late forms will not be accepted.

Students with approved guests will receive an email with a special code to purchase their guest's ticket through GoFan.

Are refunds available?

No. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason.

Do students need to bring identification?

Yes. Students should bring their school ID or another form of photo identification for entry.

Do outside guests need identification?

Yes. Outside guests should bring a valid photo ID to the dance.

My student does not have a cell phone for the GoFan app. How do they get into the dance?

Students who do not have a cell phone for GoFan should print out their purchased ticket. They will be able to check in with one of the administrators at the check in table to confirm they have purchased their ticket on our ticket list prior to entry to the dance. Students should have the first and last name on the ticket as well as their student ID ready before going to the check in table.

Where should students be dropped off and picked up?

Student drop-off and pick-up will take place at Doors 30 and 33 (by the amphitheater)

Is there a dress code?

Yes. Students should plan to wear semi-formal, or dressy casual attire that remains appropriate for a school-sponsored event.

Can students leave and come back?

No. Once a student leaves the dance, re-entry is not permitted.

Is there a latest arrival time?

Yes. All students must arrive by 9:00 p.m. Doors will close promptly at 9:00 p.m. and no additional guests will be admitted after that time.

What are the expectations for behavior?

All school rules remain in effect during the Homecoming Dance. Students who engage in inappropriate behavior may be removed from the event and may be subject to additional disciplinary consequences.

Will the dance be supervised?

Yes. Administrators, teachers, security personnel, and event staff will supervise the dance throughout the evening.
