- OCTOBER 16/17: Senior Make Up Pictures: Those who missed their senior pictures will be able to make them up on October 16 and 17. More information and to purchase your pictures please go to Vosphoto
- OCTOBER 26: Senior SAT Day: PWCS is offering an opportunity for the class of 2024 to take the SAT, free of charge, on 10/26 during the school day. Students who are interested should complete the SAT interest sign up form by 9/5/23; no late interest sign up will be accepted. Only students with PWCS Outlook accounts will be able to complete this form.
Previous Announcements
- AUGUST 31: Senior Meeting: Administration and counselors will meet with the class of 2024 during advisory on 8/31. A representative from Jostens will be there and senior year activities will be discussed. Please ask your student about this assembly afterwards.
- SEPTEMBER 6: Senior Lessons: Seniors will receive lessons and information about post-secondary planning through advisory and in their Government classes starting 9/6. We encourage families to ask their students questions about these lessons.
- Senior Interviews: After senior lessons, seniors will meet one-on-one with their school counselor for their senior interview. In these meetings students will review their graduation requirements, discuss their post-secondary plan, and review supports the student may need. Ms. Harris, GHS College and Career Counselor, will be able for referral to students as needed. Due to growth in our student population, school counselor caseloads have changed this school year. You can see the most up to date counselor assignments on the GHS website.
- SEPTEMBER 14: Senior Information Night: Parents/guardians and members of the class of 2024 Gainesville High School will be hosting a Senior Information Night on Thursday, September 14th, 6:00-7:30 pm. Families will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions that will help seniors explore their post-secondary options. Representatives from the Princeton Review, Laurel Ridge Community College, Northern Virginia Community College, and ECMC The College Place will be presenting. Cap and Gowns: Jostens will be at the Senior Information Night on 9/14 for cap and gowns order, but students and families can also place orders on Jostens website. We hope to see you there!
- OCTOBER 5th, Thursday, a representative from Jostens will be at all lunches to help students with cap and gown sizing and orders, announcements, as well as class ring orders.
